Nostalgic composition in "Hotel in Riva del Garda" by Maciej Cieśla, big painting inspired by Italy

This huge, almost six-meter-long triptych is my largest and most technically complex painting so far.

"Hotel in Riva del Garda" is more a vision than a real memory. The landscape is an interpretation of many places, not only Tyorl but also Tuscany, or the Alps, Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

It is a nostalgic composition, made of places and characters seen in reality, as well as imaginary ones. The colors and forms, gestures and locations of characters aim to create a specific atmosphere, the possibility of entering this strange world for a moment.
